2016 Triangle CANstruction Design/Build Competition Builds Up Community / Heroes

The 2016 Triangle CANstruction collected a record 40,336 cans of food for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina! CANstruction is a nonprofit organization that holds annual design/build competitions to construct giant sized structures made entirely out of canned food.  This year, eight teams competed to erect HEROES in a 10x10x10 foot space in galleries and businesses all over downtown Raleigh.

Sigmon Construction supported JDavis Architects, who erected a giant Captain America out of 3,895 cans.  JDavis took home the awards of Structural Integrity and Jurors’ Favorite. Photographed is Roland Maurer, Commercial Project Manager for Sigmon Construction.

Congratulations to CANstruction, JDavis, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, and everyone involved for working toward a fantastic cause.
